Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A male was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines through the web.

The 47 was likewise questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be hazardous.

"These types of items being offered, generally online, have actually undergone no quality control and there can be no guarantee about their safety.
